A selection of artwork projects awarded grants by the Historic Houses Foundation (formerly the Heritage Conservation Trust)
Combermere Abbey, Shropshire
Combermere received two grants for the cleaning and restoration of important paintings, one in The Library and the second for the Peter Tillemans bird’s eye view of the Abbey in 1730.
Dorney Court, Windsor
The Historic Houses Foundation (then Heritage Conservation Trust) funded the restoration of Pieter Casteels (1684-1749) ‘Tulips, Carnations and Other Flowers in a Vase on a Plinth’ at Dorney Court.
Raby Castle, County Durham
The Historic Houses Foundation (then Heritage Conservation Trust) supported the restoration of A Group of Musicians. The work was undertaken by Jim Devenport and Rory Johnson of the Haughton Studio, Northumberland.
Doddington Hall, Lincolnshire
The Historic Houses Foundation (then Heritage Conservation Trust) supported the restoration of Hager and Ismael at Doddington Hall.
The project was undertaken by Christine Braybrook and Amiel Clarke at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge.
Six paintings in the collection at Capesthorne Hall will be restored with funding from the Historic Houses Foundation. The paintings at Capesthorne are extraordinary for their depth and range as a family collection accumulated over centuries.
